DIGITAL MAN

I thought I knew what the world was about
In livin’ everyday
I always knew I could figure it out
Just give it time to pay
So I punch that keypad do what I can
In an analog world I’m a Digital Man …Digital Man

What can you do, its an imperfect world
The world outside my screen
It’s like a jungle all the way to the store
Its a neanderthal scene
I’m gonna punch that keypad be what I can
In an analog world I’m a Digital Man
Digital Man, Digi-Digi-Digital M-M-Man

Well you know sometimes I have a thought
And I think I might be dreaming
There’s a place, I can be
Its a world where all is right .. Oooo …

Well maybe something here is out of control
Its the world outside my door
They say reduce, reuse, renew is the goal
But all I get is more.
I’m gonna punch that keypad be what I am
In an analog world I’m a Digital Man
Digital Man, Digi-Digi-Digital M-M-Man

Tiny Island by Greg Mittler Music

TINY ISLAND

There is a corner of the world
With a parrot in a palm tree swaying
In the breeze where the sea’s an azure blue
And in this almost paradise
On a day made in heaven did I roam
Me on my boat and you on your island home.

And as I watched you from the sea
One hand above your head and waving
You seemed to say, come to me, come ashore
But as I stepped onto the sand
I felt the island tremble
Like a world unsure of what it could bear …

Now I know …
What you tried to say was sail away
Leave you on your island hideaway
With your books and your souvenirs
So I go …
From this island place you call your own
Only room for one and one alone
Is the weight this world can bear

And as the sunset paints the sea
The tiny island is sinking ‘neath the waves
But you’ve found another island hideaway
You’ll always find another island home
Parrot and palm tree and you on the shore alone
Yeah, me on my boat and you on your island …
There’s a bridge to your island
From an isle somewhere.

Relentless by Greg Mittler Music

RELENTLESS

Where does love go when the heart passes on?
Is it over and done when the magic is gone?
Well some things should not be
But its alive
And its living in me…

Relentless, I’m comin’ in to you
Relentless, this love is logic immune
Relentless, no distance too far to move
So restless, this love is way overdue baby

Time pushes on as we pull that heavy load
Now a man must be strong ’cause there are pits in the road
And when you’re chasin’ a dream
That’s got you hooked
Way under your skin…

Relentless, I’m comin’ in to you
Relentless, this love is logic immune
Relentless, this love is drivin’ me on
So restless, my fever’s keepin’ me warm
Relentless, if it takes a whole life
Relentless, I’ll get there sure as the night baby

Now some people say easy come easy go
When you’re flyin’ by night then you die in dayglow
And for this timeless account,
Here’s my name
And you’re all that I want…

Relentless, I’m comin’ in to you
Relentless, this love is logic immune
Relentless, this love is drivin’ me on
So restless, my fever’s keepin’ me warm
Relentless, if it takes a whole life
Relentless, I’ll get there sure as the night baby

It Would Not Be You by Greg Mittler Music

IT WOULD NOT BE YOU

Beyond us on the bay
In wind from better days
My boats of blue and grey
Go sailing…

And steady as they go
Thru green sea, sun of gold
I watch the tiny sails
Disappearing…

But let’s not talk of loss, let’s sing it as it was, boys
La la la la la
La la la la la la
And we’ll drink a cup to better days ahead…

A man will take a wife
With children share a life
But this will not be cast
Between us…

Yes, and the colours of my time
Will change from fair to fine
But it would not be you
Who paints them…

Oh guide me thru the storm
My boats are tossed and torn
They journey far from home
No, don’t you let them go alone
Oh let my eyes behold the sight of land again

Beyond us on the bay
My boats of blue and grey
Go splashing on their way
To someone…

When I am old and dry
Will I recall and sigh
That it could not be you…

Android Wars by Greg Mittler Music

ANDROID WARS

Well they lined us up and they signed us up
And they sent us on our way
To the Android Wars in the year of our Lord,
Twenty forty-three
So it came to pass we became the last
To observe the green and blue
From the bomber doors you could see the sores
On the Mother Earth…

And it’s forward into the darkness
Backwards into the night
We are lost in this madness

Drifting out of sight of the Gravity Eye,
Goodbye, goodbye

Well it all began on the Outerscan
When the Vapour Grid appeared
And the Energy Main came into firing range
On the visual
But the rippin’ gleam of a Razon Beam
Cut the whole ship all to hell
Now we’re floatin’ free on the ship’s debris
Just waitin’ to die…

And it’s forward into the darkness
Backwards into the night
We are lost in this madness
Drifting out of sight of the Gravity Eye
Goodbye, Goodbye.

Well they lined us up and they shined us up
And they sent us on our way
To the Android Wars in the year of our Lord,
Twenty forty-three.
And I miss my home in the Saturn Dome
And I miss my woman dear
But I’m floatin’ away in the black of day
Of the universe…

Uglyman by Greg Mittler Music

UGLYMAN

I am the Uglyman
My eyes can’t see what others can
The Uglyman I am
Born dry and hollow

I am the Uglyman
With graceless words at my command
The Uglyman I am
Grows thin and shallow

But even worlds unlovely
Can be strangely charmed by beauty
And through your clear eyes I see waves
That wash the shore of other worlds
of another’s world…
of an ugly world…

I am the Uglyman
My ears won’t hear what others can
The Uglyman I am
Dies slow within me
I was the Uglyman
who loved you…
dearly…
